FIRE DRILL AT MOUWASAT HOSPITAL MADINAH

KEC, August 2022

Under the auspices of ECZA’s Security Affairs Department, and with the participation of KEC’s Asset and Property Management Department, the KEC-based Mouwasat Hospital Madinah successfully conducted a fire drill in its coronary care unit. This included the safe evacuation of 16 patients and delivery to the ER according to their injuries.

A number of relevant technical departments participated in the implementation of the evacuation drill, which saw further support from the KEC Security and Safety Department. The one-hour fire drill was executed in the presence of the hospital’s Evacuation Plans Assessment Committee, which includes representatives of the Civil Defense and the Ministry of Health as quality monitors.

Such exercises help enhance the capabilities of the rescue and evacuation teams responsible for safeguarding various key ECZA facilities. The fire drill, completed within the standard time allotted to emergency response units, measured how the ability of each participant to follow the evacuation plan and all related accident protocols. It also gauged the response readiness and coordination capabilities of all supporting entities involved in the exercise.
