On December 8, 2022, on the sidelines of the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Kingdom, ECZA signed a MoU with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, to boost cooperation between the two countries in the field of SEZs.
The MoU was signed by H.E. Mr. Wang Wentao, the Chinese Minister of Commerce, and H.E. Eng. Khaled Al Falih, the Saudi Minister of Investment and ECZA Chairman. It aims to set the stage for future knowledge and expertise exchange across policy and legislation development as well as ECs and SEZs exemption and incentive data exchange. The agreement will also help establish a general framework for joint activities and missions, investment attraction, and mutually beneficial institutional capacity development efforts.
