DUTCH EMBASSIES IN GCC EXPLORE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN KAEC

VSG for EC Affairs, Mr. Mazen Al Saleh, accompanied by the Executive Director for Planning and Development of King Abdullah Port, Mr. Hattan AlShuaiby, and the CEO of KAEC, Mr. Cyril Piaia, received a delegation of senior officials from the embassies of the Netherlands in the GCC region during a visit to KAEC on December 7, 2022.

Led by the Netherlands Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Janet Alberda, along with several officials of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit came on the sidelines of a regional economic and diplomatic tour from Dutch embassies in the GCC region, organized by the Dutch embassy in Saudi Arabia in both Riyadh and Jeddah from December 4-7, 2022.

During the visit, Al Saleh explained the vision, mission, and objectives of ECZA and its business model, highlighting the goals set for the ECs, and their targeted contribution to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 and additional domestic strategies. Al Saleh also touched on the services provided by ECZA through the Integrated Government Services Center, which supports developers, investors and residents of ECs in the Kingdom.

The visit of the Dutch delegation included a tour of KAEC, starting with the residential districts, passing through the IV, and on to the facilities of Binzagr, where the delegation learned more about the most prominent modern technologies used by the company in the field of logistics. Finally, the Dutch delegation visited King Abdullah Port Tower, the HQ of PDC, and was briefed on the most important landmarks and facilities in the port, concluding the visit with a lunch gathering at the Bay La Sun Hotel.

The Dutch delegation, along with the ambassador, included the Deputy Head of the Mission in the Kingdom and the Economic Advisor, the Deputy Ambassador to Kuwait – Director of the Economic Department, Deputy Ambassador to Oman – Director of the Economic Department, Deputy Ambassador to Qatar – Director of the Economic Department. The delegation also included representatives from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, and a number of Dutch policy officials and government advisors.
